Brawn to exit Mercedes at the end of '13 season
Tuesday 29th October 2013, 11:54 by Ryan Wood
Ross Brawn will reportedly leave Mercedes at the end of the current season according to several credible sources within the Formula 1 paddock.
The Briton, who has led the Mercedes outfit since they rejoined the sport in 2010 following the buyout of the championship winning Brawn GP, was set to stay for at least another season.
However reports from the Anglo-German camp suggest he has tired of waiting for confirmation of his position next year as the team begins to hand over control to new recruit Paddy Lowe.
Brawn suggested he would only remain if he had significant influence over the decision making process, but it's believed Mercedes are keen to hand that over to Lowe and force Brawn to take an advisory position.
The BBC's Eddie Jordan among others reports that Brawn will leave at the end of 2013, but his final destination isn't certain, with some still suggesting Williams or McLaren might be an option.
When the team were probed on the report, they simply responded with "no comment", which is a strong hint that the relationship might be over.
