Lauda hoping to keep Brawn at Mercedes next year amid rumours he might be off to McLaren

Niki Lauda has revealed that he is working to keep team principal Ross Brawn at Mercedes next season after rumours surfaced during the Korean Grand Prix that he might be off to McLaren for 2014.
It's widely known that Brawn will leave the Anglo-German outfit eventually after they hired Paddy Lowe as his successor. However it isn't known exactly when that will be.
Reports suggested he has been linked to a role at Honda and McLaren for 2014 after the Woking team hinted at a 'high level technical signing' and Honda are due to re-join the sport as McLaren's engine supplier in 2015.
Whilst those rumours have been brushed aside, Lauda confirmed he is working to retain Brawn, suggesting the former Brawn GP, Honda and Ferrari team principal has raised the subject of leaving.
"I am in negotiations with Ross Brawn," he told German media on Monday. "There's no decision on how things will be in the long term.
"That's the situation. And that's been the situation for some time.
"My goal is clearly to retain him, but he will only make the decision at the end of the year."
