Massa says new teams not good for F1

Saturday-06-2010

Felipe Massa has criticised the pace of the new teams describing Formula One as "two different series".

The Brazilian, who makes a comeback after several months without driving due to an accident in qualifying at the Hungarian GP told the Italian paper Corriere della Sera that the new teams slow pace presents a danger to the quicker teams.

"I hope they won't be a danger," he said.

"There are 6-7 teams one second apart while those teams are 4 seconds behind," referring to Virgin, Lotus and Hispania who were often four seconds off the pace in testing.

"It's not good for the sport and not good for them: it's like two different series. They'll suffer. And we'll suffer too, when we have them in front of us during qualifying."
